Why I removed the question behind "Fully Upgradeable Firmware/Hardware"
"Fully Upgradeable Firmware/Hardware" most likely means that the 512 MByte storage and EEPROM for savegames was realised in FPGA... if they implemented their design with upgrades in mind they can very well update the hardware, by adding 4 MBit EEPROM saves, for example. That means if there is space left on the FPGA.
This also opens a lot of opportunities, if homebrewers could get their hand on the FPGA sources that thing could be used for a lot of different things than just dumb Flash Memory. Just imagine this thing as a hardware XviD decoder, for example, so you could directly play back full resolution XviDs without having to recode them with Moonshell. Or you could implement a NES in it. Whatever is do-able with FPGAs...
