Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector
The official Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector is supposed to be the easiest way to get your DS online. Once you get the drivers installed on your PC it's just one click on the DS to get online. But it only works with Windows XP and doesn't seem to get along with a lot of network configurations.
According to the product information in Nintendo's official store [1] - In order to use the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB connector, you will need:
- PC (The Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector is not Mac compatible)
- Windows XP
- A high-speed internet connection (such as DSL or cable)
- A Wi-Fi compatible Nintendo DS game
- and, of course, a Nintendo DS.
The connector is also supposed to work with 56k modem, although Nintendo officially doesn't claim this.
Wireless Router or Access Point
The DS is also supposed to work with wireless routers and access points, but it seems to be rather picky with compatibility, see the official Nintendo list of supporter routers.
The DS works fine with completely wide open routers or access points, but if you want some security you have to enable WEP encryption and/or MAC verification to get some security. The DS does not support the more secure WPA encryption unfortunately.
Ralink Soft AP

WiFi Max
Datel has released the WiFi Max which is a cheaper alternative to the official Nintendo connector and supports both DS and PSP.
