GNUboy DS
From PHWiki
GNUboy DS aka DSBoy aka DS_GBC is a Gameboy and Gameboy Color emulator for the DS. It was the first GB/GBC emulator for the DS with sound support (excluding the GBA-only Goomba Color), though Lameboy now offers sound support with v0.8 that greatly surpasses that of GNUboy DS. However, it runs most games at a slow speed and with corrupt graphics. In addition, it has no support for game saving.

History
This emulator has passed hands a few times, so it has an interesting history. It has three names, depending on which version you are referring to: DS_GBC, DSBoy, and GNUboy DS.
- DS_GBC was the original emulator, made by Ethos for the 2005 Neoflash coding competition. It saw one preview release, two demos, and a final 0.1 version before being discontinued. It required a slot-2 device with GBA compatibility in order to run, and had low compatibility, slow speed, and no sound. Only one game per compilation was supported
- DSBoy was created when mateom199 took the DS_GBC sourcecode and added a few key features, namely DLDI support and a file browser, in addition to the ability to compile with devkitARM r20. However, graphical glitches were introduced in the conversion, and while the file browser did allow for multiple games to be used, in order to switch games the DS had to be rebooted.
- GNUboy DS is the current version, and is the result of several modifications to DSBoy in order to fix the graphical corruption somewhat and add sound support. These modifications were mostly done by Theli and GPFerror, the former fixing the graphics and the latter adding sound support. However, many graphics remain corrupted (especially text), and the sound is muddy and garbled.
Notes
With DS_GBC, you must rename your game file to "game.gb" and use the batch file to merge it into the emulator core.
With DSBoy and GNUboy DS, you can have your games anywhere on your card but they must end in .gbc for the program to recognize them. Be sure to patch with DLDI before using.
While this emulator functions relatively well, Lameboy is recommended for normal usage instead.
