Overview

DeSmuME is a freeware emulator for the Nintendo DS created by YopYop156. The emulator its self is only in French, but it is still easy to navigate through the menues as it has a similar GUI to DSemu

It supports many homebrew demoes as well as a handful of Wireless Multiboot demoes. DeSmuME is also able to emulate some of the titles which other DS Emulators like iDeaS and Dualis aren't capable of doing so.

The name DeSmuME derives from the popular use of ME in Nintendo DS products by homebrew developers. So DeSmuME would equal DSemuMe. Other popular uses of ME include LoadMe, PassMe and WifiMe.

Features

The following was taken from the product's website:

  • Direct DMA Emulation (No VBlank)
  • Displays BG0 only when using 3D
  • Emulation of both ARM7 and ARM9 CPU's
  • No External Palette
  • OAM support
  • Some SWI Calls
  • Supports GFX Mode 0 Only
  • Supports only 16bits RGBA.

The End of the Project

Work on this EMU came to an end when yopyop posted a message on his site saying that he was no longer going to work on the project. This leaves NO$GBA as the best publicly available DS emulator at this time.
