DSemu

From PHWiki

DSemu was an emulator written by Imran Nazar, the dream is to eventually emulate a Nintendo DS on many platforms. Currently, the only platform supported is Win32, and the standard of emulation is work-in-progress.

DSemu shot to fame with its first release of 0.0.1a, many websites stole the sourcecode and claimed it as their own work even claiming the game ran commercial ROM's. One website went as far as to make people pay to play a slightly altered 0.0.1a.

When DS homebrew began, DSemu could play almost all of the software almost flawlessly. This gave everybody following the emulator high hopes that it could soon play dumps of commercial ROM's.

The last official version of DSemu by Imran Nazar was 0.0.3c. This ran most demos but did not play any DS ROM's. The emulator slowly died as Lino Maglione's iDeaS was released. On June 30th, 2005, Nazar allowed Chris Double to take over his work.

Double has since been consistantly working on new versions of DSemu, upgrading its compatibility and features with every new release. The latest release is 0.4.7 and is the most stable DS homebrew emulator available.
