Cartridge

From PHWiki

Cartridge, also called Cart for short, refers to a circuit board inside a plastic case, with an edge connector intended to fit into a connector on another circuit board.

Older and handheld video game systems use a cartridge containing a ROM chip. Such cartridges for NES, Game Boy, Super NES, Nintendo 64, and Game Boy Advance are called "Game Paks" by Nintendo. The much slimmer carts for PC Engine (TurboGrafx 16) and Nintendo DS games are called "cards" (HuCard and DS Game Card respectively).
